Full-Spectrum Dabs

If you’re a cannabis connoisseur, you know that not all extracts are created equal. In fact, there are three main categories when it comes to weed extracts: full spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate. Full spectrum is everything that a plant has to offer-THC, CBD, CBG, terpenes, flavonoids-the whole shebang! Broad spectrum extracts are similar to full-spectrum but remove THC during the extraction process. And then there’s isolate, which removes any and all compounds other than a specific cannabinoid. Full-Spectrum Dabs

Full spectrum oils (or FSO) are extracts that preserve the complete range of cannabinoids, terpenes, and other compounds naturally found in the marijuana plant. This means they contain THC, CBD, as well as minor cannabinoids and fatty acids, and other chemicals like amino acids. These all work together to create what’s known as the entourage effect, and give you a more holistic experience than isolated products.

To make a full-spectrum oil, the cannabis plant is flash frozen to preserve the cannabinoid compounds that are most active at the time of harvest. Then the plant is dried and cured using traditional methods. The final product is an extract that contains the cannabinoid molecules that were present in the plant at the time of harvest, along with other natural terpenes and compounds.

Full-spectrum extracts can be incredibly potent. However, they are more difficult to produce because you’re balancing keeping all the desirable compounds in while getting rid of the unwelcome ones. For this reason, many dispensaries prioritize having full-spectrum products in stock.
